What happens when prices fall?

Your spending power falls with them, because it is derived from what your locked positions are worth now. It can fall below what you have already drawn.

What happens as the cushion thins?

The account says so, and nothing is declined yet. Repaying part of the balance or depositing more restores headroom.

When are charges declined?

At the required level. Your locked collateral has to stay above a required level relative to what you have drawn, and a charge that would take it below is declined.

When can collateral be sold?

Collateral can be sold to cover what has been drawn, at market prices and on the market's timing. A sale can happen without notice, and it realises whatever gain or loss the position carries at that moment.

The account agreement will carry these terms. The drafts are at /legal.

Does a fall reduce what you owe?

No. Drawn balances have to be repaid whatever the market does. A fall reduces what the account can support, and what has already been drawn stays owed.

How do you restore headroom?

Repay part of the balance, or deposit more of what you hold. Both work at once, at any step.
